Lab Overview

The CNS Speech Lab at the Boston University Department of Cognitive and Neural Systems (also part of CELEST, an NSF Science of Learning Center) is directed by Prof. Frank Guenther and is funded by grants from the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD) and National Science Foundation (NSF). The lab includes a number of researchers and graduate research assistants from Boston University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Harvard University. The primary goal of the lab is the development, testing, and refinement of a computational modeling framework addressing the neural processes underlying speech. We apply this theoretical framework to study communication disorders and design neural prosthetics in collaborative projects with other labs. More information about our research is available on the main research page here.
